Greensburg Pirate Bands
The Greensburg Pirate bands are comprised of students grades 6-12 in Greensburg Community Schools. These young musicians participate in Concert band, Jazz Band, Indoor Percussion, Marching Band and Pep Band.

Lisa Cary
Director of Bands
Ms. Cary is the Director of Bands at Greensburg Community High and Greensburg Junior High School. She is an alum of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she earned degrees in Instrumental Music Education and French horn performance with a minor in Wind Conducting. Ms. Cary performed as a part of the Indiana University Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and, most importantly, the Marching Hundred! She is active in performing in groups around the state of Indiana such as the Indianapolis Symphonic Band and the Indiana Wind Symphony.

She greatly enjoys teaching her students in grades 6-12 in
Concert Band, Guitar, Piano, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Band. Ms. Cary is passionate about the importance of the marching arts and has worked with many bands in the state of Indiana and currently serves as as head director of the Decatur County Greensburg Marching Band. Ms. Cary also teaches privately after school to provide added challenge and support to students. When she is isn’t working with her wonderful students, Ms. Cary loves to garden, bake, and and spend time with her pet turtle, Jasper.
Jack Obermeyer
Assistant Band Director
Mr. Obermeyer is the Assistant Band Director at Greensburg Community High School and Greensburg Junior High School. He is an alum of Miami University of Ohio where he earned a degree in Instrumental Music Education and a minor in Arts Administration. During his time at Miami University, Mr. Obermeyer performed with the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, University Orchestra, Trumpet Ensemble, Marching Band, and Steel Drum Ensemble. He has also previously been a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and Matrix Percussion.
Mr. Obermeyer is excited to start his teaching career in Greensburg and is looking forward to working with students in the concert bands, jazz bands, percussion class, and the Decatur County Greensburg Marching Band. When he’s not at school, Mr. Obermeyer loves to watch, read, and play with his dog Winnie.
